The turn of July into August feels like a mid-way point in the course of the days that make up the “real” or authentic summer. And in this crazy year, everything feels over-weighted and all things heavier than they might usually be.

The heat and humidity has been oppressive and it’s pushed us towards melodrama. In this incredible year, everything–even the weather– feels like an existential crisis. And why not? There’s a summer theme emerging that links it to the great French existential plays. We already had The Plague a la Albert Camus. Now this week anybody who ventured to the beaches knows a steady westerly wind brought on The Flies and all the symbolism in that encounter vis a vis JP Sartre. One might think there is No Exit.

Ok, I’ll stop

For we can find escape in our real estate market here in Avalon, Sea Isle, and Stone Harbor. Although it does share one characteristic with this summer– it’s hot–, it certainly does not contain any room for the dominant mental states explored by those French thinkers. Lethargy, anguish, ennui? No. Try energy, possibility, and excitement.

But enough, let’s look at the houses and look at the numbers. Just click on a link to see the homes.
