Burke & Co. is very proud of our internet marketing. Clients marketing their homes for sale or rental can reach just shy of 13,000 people who have been actively involved in the real estate market here at the southern NJ shore in recent years.

However, we get a lot of blow back surprisingly from the simplest of messages: holiday well wishes. We’re just putting this out here. We say “Merry Christmas”. (And send an email every year saying exactly those words.) But we also say “Happy Hannukah”, “Have a joyous Eid” and even “Happy Diwali”. We’ve never met a holiday we didn’t like. And we have some clients, colleagues, and friends we know celebrate each of these holidays. We also don’t care what people believe or practice so we have many, many clients who might celebrate any or all of these holidays that we don’t know about.

For whatever reason, these emails prompt more unsubcribes and more critical reply email than any other type we do. So be it. We wish everybody joy and togetherness with loved ones no matter what cultural celebrations bring them together.

Always seems like all the Christmas movies have boy protagonists, that’s just one of the reasons it was a delight to find what might be my new current favorite family Christmas movie that features a young girl at the center this time. But fear not, this isn’t just some woke effort as her Dad (though not a main character) shines as a great example of what is to be a good man. Meanwhile, her mom leads the way in letting the misfit kids that nobody wants to deal with teach a whole church and a whole town the true meaning of the Christmas story. This movie is incredible.
